Malta Makes It To Worlds

Malta has finally made it to the League of Legends World Championship. Kinda…

The League of Legends World Championship, affectionately known as Worlds, is always the biggest esports spectacle of the year. Whether it’s cementing Faker as the best esports player of all time, or serving as the platform to launch Linkin Park’s new lead singer, it is an event like no other.

In a serendipitous turn of events, Malta somehow made an appearance at Worlds 2024.

How the hell did Malta make it to Worlds?

A Maltese esports fan was in the crowd at the O2 Arena in London during the Grand Finals in November last year, and their poster caught the eye of the cameraman.

The poster says “I want to date Keria. Go T1 from Malta!”, together with a Maltese flag and a cheeky kiss. Keria is the 22-year old support player for Korean team T1. T1 went on to win Worlds, making it Keria’s 2nd Worlds victory, and T1’s 5th Worlds title.

The image was also featured in a documentary by theScore esports, called “Unkillable: Faker is Forever”, which is available on Youtube.

Does anyone know this local fan? Do we think she got lucky?
