The Maltese Government has made it no secret that they want esports business in Malta. Following the announcement of esports organisations such as Furia and Talon Esports, it seems that the GamingMalta Foundation has helped another foreign-owned esports business set up shop in Malta.
Who is Daigon?
DAIGON Esports is an esports education company registered in England, that seems to have been around since 2022, with a mission to get esports into international schools.
Daigon’s business model is one that integrates an esports curriculum into international schools, through after-school clubs, and competition across schools, and opening up career prospects for students. Daigon currently works with over 100 international schools around the world.
They’ve been in Malta for a few months, and they’re also hiring!
In October last year, they were present at Playcon, and have opened an office in Zejtun, within GamingMalta’s incubator space, Basecamp. Adam Gatt, known in the local esports community as ‘tSpark’, is Daigon’s Competitions Manager, and is responsible for a number of the company’s competitions taking place throughout the year. Their LinkedIn indicates that they’re also hiring at least one more employee for their Malta office: a Branding & Marketing Intern.
Esports Investment in Malta
Daigon is success story of GamingMalta’s attempts at attracting more esports business to the island, and we hope this won’t be the last!
