What are the details of the ban?
The player was banned by the Akros anti-cheat client and an inquiry by Akros has confirmed that the ban is legitimate and BC.Game Esports have therefore been disqualified from the tournament.
BC.Game Esports have since announced that joel has been removed from the active roster pending the results of their own investigation. It is not the first time that the player has found himself in hot water, having been suspended by ESIC for match-fixing late last year.
While it’s uncertain what the outcome of this investigation will be, it makes one wonder as to how many others have attempted similar actions within the CS2 scene. Hopefully, due to this and future punishments, players are less motivated to attempt cheating, match-fixing and all things negative which are bad for our sport.
That being said, good on Eden Esports for acting swiftly and professional in this instance.
