Mizu Signs With Apollon Esports

The FIFA scene has been exciting this year, and big moves were made, both internationally and locally. On the local scene, FIFA esports player Micheal ‘MIZU’ Micallef has been given the opportunity to join and represent Apollon EFC for the upcoming season!

Mizu first started off competing in local FIFA tournaments, and then went on to compete in other international online tournaments as gfinity back in FIFA 18. He then started to take it a lot more seriously from FIFA 20 when he managed to get FUT verified in the 2nd week, and this was no small achievement. Mizu was quite happy with this!

It was a big surprise for me back then as I didn’t think I was at that level.

In his FIFA career so far, he has played for quite a few organisations, one of which was Electrify Esports. After being officially signed with them, he went on to win many local tournaments. He also qualified for both editions of the Malta ePremier League, placing 6th (FIFA 20) and TOP8 (FIFA 21).

How do you feel now that you’re representing Apollon EFC?

Having this opportunity to play and stream for Apollon means a lot to me as it shows all my hard work isn’t going unnoticed and that i’m on the right track. I would also like to mention that currently, I am still also with Diabol as for now Apollon would like to focus more on streaming on their Facebook page.

So Mizu, what are your goals for this season?

My goals for this season are to try and take it a step further than last year, mainly in the ePremier League, but as well trying to do my best in the FUT GLOBAL SERIES qualifiers.

With such exciting news, and seeing local players signing with international organisations, we wish Mizu the best of luck for the upcoming season!
