Is this the first time this is happening?
Eden Cinemas have been hosting a watch-party at their cinema for a couple of years now, and there’s always been a decent amount of attendance at the venue. Even when Worlds was hosted in the Americas, where time zones could be a challenge for esports viewership. In 2022, Eden Cinemas were also handing out rewards to all those that bought a ticket for the 2022 LoL Worlds Finals viewing, here’s what it consisted of:
What about the actual viewing experience?
The cinema provides a large screen with high quality laser-projection for the best cinema viewing experience possible. We’ve reached out to some members of the LoL community with regards to their experience when attending one of these viewings and some criticism that was highlighted was:
- Screen not big enough to show player items
- Bottom part of the broadcast was misaligned and did not fit
- Theater lights were off in between games and sound was still ongoing at high volumes (viewers could not discuss or chat during the ad-breaks)
We are unsure if this feedback has been forwarded to Eden Cinemas, however with this article we hope to push this message further to provide the best possible experience for any attendees.
Where to get tickets?
Tickets can be purchased on Eden Cinema’s official event page. It is stated that the total runtime will be about 420 minutes, this is due to the final being a best of 5, and quite possibly might go the distance, so take this with a grain of salt. The broadcast kicks off at 3pm on Saturday 2nd November, so be sure to arrive a few minutes beforehand to avoid missing out on some early action!
Conclusion
It’s great to see that a brand as big as Eden Cinemas is supporting esports once again with the viewing of the LoL Worlds Final. One can only hope that Eden Cinemas keep offering these opportunities and include other esports to their unique viewing experiences. Communities of games such as Counter-Strike, VALORANT, Rainbow Six Siege, Rocket League and others could benefit tremendously from this. After reading all of the above, you should know more about the viewing experience and hope to see you there!
