MNL Grand Finals

The maps were as follows: Mirage, Overpass and Vertigo. First up on Mirage, which was Iconic Cinco’s pick did not go so well for the guys in red, as they lost the map 16-6. With this win, it was looking like another swift victory for Eversio. On Overpass however, Iconic Cinco showed a much more promising performance, showing that they had practiced the map thoroughly to give the Eversio lineup a challenge. Unfortunately for them, this was not enough as they ended up losing the map 16-14.

With Eversio winning the Malta National League over Iconic Cinco, they received a direct invite to Eden Esports’ main event, the European Development Championship.

Project Eversio at the European Development Championship

Eversio’s first match-up at the EDC was none other than Top 30 team, Winstrike. This was going to be a tough task for the Maltese team, and this showed in the end result. The series finished with a 2-0 scoreline (Vertigo 16-6 & Train 16-9), favoring Winstrike. This loss meant that Project Eversio were eliminated from the tournament, and Winstrike advanced through to the eight round of playoffs.

This was the first time that a Maltese core team was participating in a big European event such as this. Despite their immediate loss, the team has definitely learned a lot, and that is why they have revamped their roster. Hopefully, they can return with a better performance in Season 2!
