EXEM Proving Grounds Announced – Warzone Edition

EXEM Proving Grounds Announced

Here it is… The moment all of you have been waiting for. We here at Esports Malta have paired up with local organisation Project Eversio to organise a set of events for the Maltese community. First up on the agenda is Warzone, here’s everything you need to know.

EXEM Proving Grounds – What is it?

As described above, the Eversio x Esports Malta Proving Grounds will be a set of events dedicated to the local esports community. To start with, we’ll be hosting a Warzone Tournament. However, depending on the feedback we get, we might also look into hosting events for CS:GO, VALORANT, Rainbow Six, Rocket League, League of Legends ,and others. We’re also interested in Apex Legends, FIFA and Fortnite, but we’ll have to see how the community reacts to our initial events first.

The broadcast for the event will take place on both Esports Malta and Eversio twitch channels, alternating with each event. The hosts for the tournament are none other than local figures Nathan “Zelli0n” Bonello and Jeandre “Gann” Portelli. This has been in the works for some time, and we hope we can unite the community as it once was with these events/tournaments.

Warzone Event Format

We know many of you have been waiting for more events (especially during the summertime), so we’re kicking it all off with one of Malta’s most active esport titles, Warzone. The format will be similar to previous events, not to overcomplicate things, but with a twist.

The tournament will play out in a Custom Lobby consisting of as many trio squads as we can add. A total of 5 rounds are to be played, and if there are less than 50 players, the game mode will switch to mini-royale. Regarding points, we thought it would be interesting to see how a tournament would play out if kills are given more prioritization. For this, we have decreased the number of points awarded for placement. Here’s a shortlist of the point distribution:

  • 1st place – 5 points
  • 2nd place – 4 points
  • 3rd place – 3 points
  • 4th place – 2 points
  • 5th place – 1 point
  • Each kill is worth 1 point

For more information about the event, you can head on over to the official rules page of the event here.

Prize Pool

The EXEM Proving Grounds will consist of a total prize pool of €100. This is how it will be spread:

  • 1st – €45 (€15 per player)
  • 2nd – €30 (€10 per player)
  • 3rd – €15 (€5 per player)
  • Most Kills (player) – €10

Scheduling & Registering

The tournament is set to play out on the 21st of May at around 6 PM. Due to issues and delays that might arise, we suggest that you remain available till at least 11 PM.

To register yourselves for the event, head over to the registration form here, and fill out all the credentials (Team Name, Activision IDs etc). The most important thing to keep in mind is that only the captain should fill out this form, so we avoid duplicate registrations.
