Malta Cyber Series VIII – What is it?
The Malta Cyber Series VIII is a staple event hosted by GMR, in years past this event was mainly known for being an offline or LAN event, however in recent years, GMR have switched their interest to the international scene, and for the second year running will be hosting a high tier European tournament.
The previous edition consisted of a similar format with 6 teams battling it out in Malta between the 8th and 10th of March 2024. After a gruelling set of matches in the playoffs, the final took place between Team BDS and G2 Esports, in which the French squad was the eventual victor.
Tournament Prize Pool
A total prize pool of $20,000 will be distributed among the top 3 teams. They will be split as follows:
- 1st – $12,000
- 2nd – $5,000
- 3rd – $3,000
Tournament Format
The Malta Cyber Series will kick off with 8 online qualifiers in which the top 2 from each qualifier will move on to the next stage, the LCQ. Four standout teams from the LCQ will advance to the offline finals, hosted in Malta and meet the other 2 invited teams. The live finals will showcase a three-day, double-elimination format, with organizers covering travel and accommodation for the qualified teams.

After the Qualifiers are concluded, the Last Chance Qualifier will take place between the 25-27th to finalize the list of teams participating in the Live Finals in Malta!
Malta Cyber Series VIII – Where to watch?
The event will be livestreamed on the official Northern European Rainbow 6 Esports Twitch channel which you may visit by clicking here. To obtain tickets for the live event in Malta, you may head on over to the official ticket page and select the type of ticket you’d like to purchase. Prices for a 3-Day spectator ticket are currently labelled at €35 as it’s an early-bird offer. The price will then increase to €45 from 1st February and €50 from the 23rd February.
