What is the Mediterranean Esports Tournament?
The Mediterranean Esports Tournament is an event which features teams from Mediterranean Sea Countries. Countries like Spain, Greece, France, as well as Malta got an invite to the event. Malta’s representative is none other than local dominating team, Project Eversio, and who better than them to show what us Maltesers can do?
The event is in an online setting and consists of a double-elimination bracket for its format. The biggest thing about this event is that the Finals will take place in Antalya, Turkey. A total of $5,000 is set as the tournament prize pool, with winnings going to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd placing teams. It is distributed as follows:
- 1st – $2,500
- 2nd – $1,500
- 3rd – $1,000
Who are they up against?
Project Eversio’s first opponent was Intrepid Fox, a team from Greece. The blues took the win, and advanced on to the Semifinals of the event. Here they will take on Team MCES, a lineup of Frenchmen which mean business. In fact, they are currently ranked as the #94 European lineup, according to their LP rating.
Spanish team Queso is probably the favourite to win the event, and it’s a team that Project Eversio will take on at some point along the bracket. Hopes are high for Eversio, especially after their recent victory at the SAFE Series: Rocket League Duos tournament.
