Project Eversio qualify for FIFAe Club World Cup Playoffs – Match briefing
For their first match, Project Eversio were matched up against the Spanish roster of the Riders. Turbuleense won the first match 2-0, but Sanchez lost his match 3-2. This meant that it was all up to Turbuleense to clutch it all in the final game. The match went on to extra time, and the Riders managed to score one before the half-time of ET. Out of nowhere, Turbuleense scores to tie the game, and in the final minute he scores the dream goal:
As you can clearly see, Sanchez was extremely happy to win this initial match for the Riders, as this got them a rematch versus Lyngby BK. This series followed a similar result as their first, with Turbuleense getting the first win, and Sanchez dropping the 2nd. This time, however, it was Sanchez that had to get the 3rd game win, and he did.
This win progressed Eversio into the winners finals versus TUNDRA Esports, a team which had beaten SV Zulte previously. This matchup was no challenge for the boys in blue as they took the series cleanly with a 2-0 win.
Grand Finals
In the Grand Finals, Project Eversio met up once more against Lyngby BK, their main rival at the FIFAe Club World Cup. Unfortunately, they lost the initial series 2-1, but since Lyngby had to climb through the loser bracket, they were allowed a second opportunity at a comeback. In the final match of the series, Turbuleense got redemption for his previous results against Lyngby BK, and scored 4-2 to win the first match. Sanchez followed through, as he also got an incredible 3-1 result, getting them 1st place in Division 1.
At the qualifiers, Project Eversio were up against the likes of Fnatic, Borussia Dortmund, Lyngby and several others. Despite having these skilled opponents, Eversio proved everyone wrong and showcased a splendid performance.
So many top players in our division but me and Sanchez managed to put on a brilliant performance this week from being the underdogs to winning division 1 and qualify for the FIFAe Club World Cup Playoffs.
Gianluca “Turbuleense” Sant, FIFA player representing Project Eversio
Project Eversio getting to qualify for the FIFAe Club World Cup Playoffs is a huge thing for the players, the organization, as well as Malta. Now they will go up against TUNDRA Esports one more time in the Semi-finals on the 28th. And if they win that, they get to play their final match versus Lyngby or Riders later that day. The winner of the finals will then advance forward to play in the FIFAe Club World Cup Zone Finals.
If Turbuleense and Sanchez manage to replicate their success at the qualifiers and pull off a brilliant performance, they might fortify Malta’s mark on the map with regards to FIFA esports.
