Round 1 – Playoffs
To kick off the event, Project Eversio were matched against team Brexit in a best of 1. This squad featured senior CS:GO players which also used to play the previous versions of Counter-Strike. The map chosen was Nuke, and to be quite fair, they gave Project Eversio a decent fight. Ultimately it the blues won 16-10, and they moved on to play versus SNV E-Sports in the Winners/Upper Bracket.
Upper Bracket – Playoffs
This was their first match versus this SNV lineup, and there’s no doubt about it, it was brutal. Project Eversio won the first map (Dust 2) 16-2, and the 2nd map (Vertigo) 16-8. It wasn’t the prettiest showing from SNV, but all things considered, they were a new roster heading into the MNL Season 2. With this win, Project Eversio were pushed into the Grand Finals, and SNV were dropped down to the losers bracket match versus KY5.
The MNL Season 2 Grand Final
Eventually, SNV managed to clutch the 2-0 win in their best of 3, and climbed back up to the Grand Finals versus Eversio. The first map picked by SNV was Mirage, and didn’t start in the prettiest way possible. The match kicked off with a 7-0 lead for Project Eversio, but eventually SNV caught on in the 2nd half. Despite this, Eversio showcased a dominant performance as they won the first map 16-7.
The 2nd map of the series was Nuke, and it’s no secret that SNV woke up for this match. They had a 10-5 scoreline by halftime, favouring Project Eversio, but it was the T-side where they shined the most. Eversio reached 15-round wins, but they didn’t manage to close it out until round 26 as SNV showed a much stronger performance. This is the final round of the Grand Finals:
The 2nd season of the Malta National League was an excellent showing of the local talent within the CS:GO community. Project Eversio were the obvious favourites heading into the event and we wish them the best of luck in their upcoming tournaments!
