The next esport title on our Red Bull Strijders article coverage is none other than Rocket League. The game has grown in popularity quite recently, with the help of other tournament organisers, and this event is going to be the ultimate challenge for all participating.

Red Bull Strijders 2021 – Rocket League Format

This event will feature a pretty standard layout with regards to its format. The 16 teams of duos participating will take on each other in a single round-robin format for its group stage. This means that each team will have to play versus all the teams in the group. 3 points will be awarded for a win, and 0 points will be given for a loss.

If teams are tied in the group stage, the following will be taken in consideration to determine which team advances to the next stage: Total points earned from wins, Results from a H2H (head to head) game, Total number of goals, and RD (Round difference). If after all these outliers, these teams are still tied, a match will be played between the two to settle who advances.

After the group stage is concluded, the event moves onto an offline setting at GMR’s studio setup. Here we’ll have the top 4 teams from the group stage play in the final phase of the tournament.

Important to bear in mind that the players themselves are responsible for inputting all scores during the tournament.

Prize

The prize pool for the Red Bull Strijders Rocket League tournament will consist of a total of €300. For this event, the entire pot of prize money will be given to the winners. Rocket League is usually lacked upon when it comes to prize money, so it’s definitely great to see that this community is also getting recognition in modern day tournaments.

Registration & Scheduling

Registration for the event is very simple, firstly, head over to GMR’s website here. Then click on the Rocket League – Duos link and fill in the registration form with the appropriate details. The qualifying stage is set to play out on the 4th of March at 7:30pm, whereas the Finals will play out between the 20th and 21st.

As mentioned previously in this article, this event is going to be a tough challenge for every single player participating. With so many talented players taking part, and such a huge prize pool on the line, this event is definitely one to watch.
